About
The Mission
Originally Mission Norman began “Meeting the Need” of the hungry and homeless in 1998 by our founder Gene Barnes. A College student volunteer started a Bible Study in a local Apartment complex. The food distribution began when someone donated a pickup load of food. People began to come to the Apartment.
Today we feed 700 families a month and the needs continue to grow.
Welcome
The Mission is more than just a food pantry - we are a community of people who are committed to making a difference in the lives of others. At the heart of everything we do is our faith in God, and our desire to serve others in His name.
We believe that everyone deserves access to healthy and nutritious food, and we are proud to provide that service to those in need. If you are looking for help, or if you want to get involved and make a difference in your community, we invite you to join us at The Mission.
