Trent’s Story

Trent (name changed) is a teenage boy who has been a faithful attendee of nearly every Mission Norman event and Bible study available to him since he moved to the trailer park several years ago. Soon after hearing the Gospel, he responded and gave his heart to Jesus. Over the years, Mission Norman workers have seen his walk with the Lord grow rapidly during certain times but also relapse into habitual, mimicked behaviors. Trent lives in an ungodly environment, as both of his parents are substance abusers and sometimes can be abusive toward him. His primary church experience has been Mission Norman, since his parents cannot take him to a local church. He also has anger issues, which draw influence from the examples in his environment and also from the repeated bullying that Trent experiences at school. As he prepares to enter high school, Mission Norman workers are praying that he would make choices based on what he knows is right and that he would not be afraid to be different from his non-Christian friends.

Hungry for love and acceptance as well as desirous to grow in his walk with Jesus, Trent needs faithful Christian men to take the time to listen to, mentor and challenge him to continue following Jesus, despite the difficulties in his environment.
