Kara (name changed) is a teenager who has been faithfully attending Bible study for about four years. She lives in an obscure trailer home at Canadian Shores with her mother. She has endured many moves and the break-up of her parents, along with the subsequent challenges with her own behavior and feelings toward her parents.
The hardest thing about Kara’s situation is that she is highly influenced by the ungodly behavior around her, to think that she also has to do wrong things to get attention and be accepted. Her mother and she are close, but their hearts still suffer from anger and lack of consistent Christian community. While Kara knows the Gospel and can clearly tell anyone how and when she gave her life to Jesus, her practical trust and obedience in Jesus often grow weak. Coupled with her limited means, Kara’s life has the potential to veer toward desperation or to be a testimony to God’s grace.
