Mission Norman in cooperation with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma participated in a supplemental food and household goods giveaway. Food boxes were distributed to families with children.
We distributed 31,396 lbs. of food and household items. That's just under 16 tons given out in just under 2 hrs. The count was 287 families consisting of 572 adults and 781 children. That's 1,353 people that we provided for in this give away and equates to 17,640 meals plus household items. This was the last of the program this year and the entire program totals for Mission Norman was 91,872 lbs., 46 tons which equates to 70,671 meals.
Mission Norman lead a service calling for spiritual awakening at Andrew’s Park Amphitheater on September 19 at 5 p.m.
The service, called I’m Awake In Him, asked for a collaborative effort of Christians and churches to increase efforts to win souls for Christ. “We want to start where we agree,”
said Jerry Worster. “That Christ is Lord and we should be telling everyone we can about him.”
I’m Awake In Him offers a time of corporate worship and prayer for Christians across denominations. Together they can plead for spiritual renewal in Norman, Oklahoma, the United States and the world.
Dinner was served at 5 p.m. and a service followed. There were several speakers and others that gave testimonies.
There was a goundbreaking ceremony for Mission Norman’s Planned Unit Development (PUD) to build 5 quadplexes for a total of 20 transitional homes for homeless
families. Included in this project will be our new administration building. This event will also kick off our 3.2 million dollar fund raiser to build out the PUD.
