Future Ministries
There are many great needs in our community that are not yet being met. The greatest need is, of course, spiritual. Our passion for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and making disciples continues to press us toward the goal of establishing churches in every multi-housing community in central Oklahoma. Another desperate need or our community is for greater assistance for the homeless. The Cleveland Country Point in Time Homeless Count conducted in September of 2007 documented 1,455 homeless people living in our community, and there is great demand for additional transitional housing, emergency shelter, counseling, job training, and much more. We believe God has called us to help meet these needs in the name of Jesus Christ, and the city of Norman specifically commissioned our ministry toward this end as part of the mayor's 10-year plan to End Chronic Homelessness in Oklahoma. The task will demand substantial physical and financial resources as well as additional personnel and volunteers. Other needs include dental and medical assistance for the poor and additional storage space for donated food, clothing and furniture. If you would like more information about how to get involved, email Gene Barnes or call our office at (405) 321-8880.
